Nude with Closed Eyes, a charcoal drawing signed by Rassenfosse and dated 1920. A self-taught artist, Armand Rassenfosse was, throughout his career, a tireless draftsman of the female form, depicting it in numerous poses. Here we present a drawing that reveals the artist’s delicacy and sensitivity; the model, standing with her hand on her hip, is adjusting her hair as it falls across her chest. Her closed eyes and the faint smile playing on her lips lend the model an air of gentleness and reverie.
